The corridor at a glance
The UKβPakistan corridor is one of Europeβs largest long-haul family markets. UK census data puts the Pakistani-heritage population at roughly 1.6 million people, concentrated around London, Birmingham, Manchester, Bradford and Glasgow β and visiting friends and relatives (VFR) is one of the largest single reasons for air travel between the two countries.
Flights concentrate on two Pakistani gateways: Islamabad (ISB) and Lahore (LHE), with Karachi (KHI) served via Gulf connections.
- London Heathrow (LHR) is the main UK gateway for direct services.
- Manchester (MAN) and Birmingham (BHX) offer one-stop Gulf-carrier routings and seasonal direct options.
- Gulf hubs (Dubai, Doha, Abu Dhabi) dominate one-stop itineraries.
What changed in 2025
In July 2025 the UK removed Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) from its Air Safety List, reopening PIAβs ability to serve UK airports directly. More carriers on the corridor typically means more direct capacity and sharper competition on peak dates β good news for families planning weddings, Eid and school-holiday trips.
How seasonality moves fares
Corridor fares follow the diaspora calendar: school summer holidays, the Eid periods, and the December break push demand up; late January to March and mid-autumn are typically the calmer, cheaper windows. The Fare Radar demo shows this shape with clearly badged sample data until a real fare feed is connected.
